Tyler, Zach, Drew, Brandon, Tommy, Vinny, Calvan, Gabe, Wesley, Charlie, Luke, Tucker, Francisco, and Finley are the sons of Kateri and Jay Schwandt. Michigan couple with 14 sons finally has a baby girl after almost 30 years, Maggie Jayne, a newborn who weighed 7 lbs., 8 oz (3.4 kg).
For years, the Schwandts from western Michigan were a well-known family in the United States, and for years, every time there was a new arrival, they were covered in local and national news. They also have a livestreaming program called "14 Outdoorsmen" that chronicles their outdoor pursuits like camping, fishing, and hunting.
Jay Schwandt said he and his wife, both 45, "are overjoyed and beyond excited to add Maggie Jayne to our family".
"This year has been memorable in so many ways, for so many reasons, but Maggie is the greatest gift we could ever imagine," he told the Detroit Free Pressfollowing his daughter’s birth at Mercy Health Saint Mary’s hospital in Grand Rapids. The Schwandts have been discussed in both local and national news for many years. The name of the couple's live-streaming show, 14 Outdoorsmen, may need to be changed.
They believed they would never have a girl at their home in the small village of Lakeview, some 30 miles northeast of Grand Rapids, according to Tyler Schwandt, their oldest child, who is 28 years old.
According to Tyler Schwandt:
“„My parents were finally blessed with the little girl they never thought they'd end up having. It's been about 12 hours since my dad told us, and I still haven't quite wrapped my mind around it. I don't even know if my mom owns any pink clothing - or anything.- Tyler Schwandt
Tyler, who recently purchased a home 20 minutes from his parents' 200-acre farm and is engaged to be married.
Jay Schwandt and Kateri Schwandt started dating in high school and got hitched in 1993. Before they received their degree from Ferris State University, they had had three sons.
Even as their family grew, both of them completed graduate degrees. Kateri has a master's in social work from Grand Valley State University, and Jay is a lawyer and business owner of a land surveying company with a law degree from the Thomas M. Cooley Law School of Western Michigan University.
Jay stated to the Detroit Free Press:
“„We are overjoyed and beyond excited to add Maggie Jayne to our family. This year has been memorable in so many ways, for so many reasons, but Maggie is the greatest gift we could ever imagine.- Jay Schwandt
Michigan couple with 14 sons finally has a baby girl after almost 30 years. Tyler Schwandt claimed that over time, he and his brothers would have developed the habit of remembering to lower the toilet seat.
But he cautioned that it might take years. He noted that because there had always been guys in the house, they were not accustomed to considering what it might be like to be a female.
